Responsibilities

The System Operations/Administrator will perform the following duties:

 

Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems, laptops, and peripheral devices.


Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.


Monitor system performance and security, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and best practices.


Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory.


Deploy software updates, patches, and security fixes to desktop systems.


Conduct regular system backups and data recovery operations.


Maintain and update asset inventory records for hardware and software.


Collaborate with IT team members to implement and support new technologies and projects.


Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.


Assist with network and server administration tasks as needed.


Stay current with trends, technologies, and best practices in desktop system administration.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

Expected Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, demonstrate an additional 4 years of related acquisition experience per level if no bachelor's degree is held.


Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Counter-Intelligence Polygraph


Experience as a desktop system administrator or in a similar IT support role.


Compliant with DoD Directive 8570


Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.


CompTIA Security+ or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

 

Desired Qualifications


Master’s Degree


Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).


Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation.


Familiarity with endpoint management and security tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune).


Certification in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).


Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.


Familiarity with network protocols and troubleshooting techniques.


Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.


Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.


Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and other domain management tools.


Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent certifications.
